The link above takes you to a video of me being great at pool. And Rich being really, really shit.

Right, onemanupship out of the way now lets all huddle around as I tell you a tale about 7 men and a Team Bath.

The day started off well until I hit the ticket office at Paddington, lets just say that I’m happy I have a young persons railcard.

The day soon became a lot better, first of all there was the drama of whether Joe would make the train but after he did then we did what we do best and got down to some heavy drinking and banter.

An hour and a half later and after earning the hatred of everyone else on the train (especially after leaving all the rubbish on the table)  we ventured into Bath and quickly made it to a pub. You imagine Bath to be chock full of nice old buildings but we were greeted with a building site.

After a pint or two we were greeted with the less then cheery face of our guide and overall nice bloke Phil. After more drinking we decided to get a taxi to Twerton Park, little did we know though that this taxi was being driven by a maniac who was out for blood. After just restraining him from killing someone at the train station we were all quite glad we made it to Twerton Park with zero fatalities.

The game itself was a pretty decent affair, certainly the best game of the run so far.  Chasetown made a mockery of their underdog status and dictated the play. Team Bath did have a lot of the ball but did nothing with it, just content to lump it which the Chasetown defense were happy to deal with.

In summary the two Chasetown goals were quite good and they had a third effort which hit the post, Chasetown were certainly good value for the win. A special note should be made about the Chasetwon fans who came in large number and were great, singing the whole game and even engaging ina pitch invasion at the end (Which Me and Rich felt dutybound to participate in). In contrast the Team Bath supporters were able to muster the effort to paint their faces but were quiet for the whole game, blatently a load of students going to their first Team Bath game.

After the game there was plenty more drinking and this is the point my memory starts to blur, it did however contain my moment of pool glory.  I’m sure though we won’t be welcome in Bath anytime soon…

After falling asleep on a bench in the train station and being woken up just in time by the gaelic tones of Brooner and Colm I wearily boarded the train home, little did we know that Bamos and Rich missed it, I’ll leave that part of the story to them.

So then,  we were drawn away to Port Vale. I can’t say I’m over the moon about it and with ATP the weekend before my finances will be at breaking point, so basically people will need to buy my booze for me!  However the 4th team we are following Chasetwon have what looks like a very good support and I’ll be firmly behind them.
