Fixture changes

So far in this run, we’ve seen games on a Saturday, a Sunday and a Tuesday. We can now, thanks to some masterful scheduling, add a Friday night.

Yes, that’s right. AFC Hornchurch v Dulwich Hamlet has, because of some no-mark ‘international’ fixture that no-one really cares about taking place on Saturday at 3pm, been rescheduled for the preceding evening.

I suppose this leaves the Saturday free to enjoy what promises to be a wonderful day of sport. England v Estonia, European Championship Qualifying match. England v France in the rugby union World Cup semi-final. Sri Lanka v England, one-day international. St Helens v Leeds, Rugby League Grand Final. And Leeds United v Leyton Orient, League 2 Match Of The Day.

Followed by, if last Saturday is anything to go by, a trip to my favourite Soho pub to molest the barmaid, practice my yoga outside and try to make my mate’s girlfriends breasts jiggle by lifting her arm up and down repeatedly, before stopping my mate getting into a fight with an angry Frenchman.

7.45, Friday night, somewhere in Upminster, the FA Cup shall continue. God bless the FA Cup. Let’s hope for an upset.
